Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

YOU SELECTED THIS OPTION BECAUSE:You have a non-US or non-US permanent resident or non visa-exempt employee who needs a visa to Canada as a business visitor.

Many employers and applicants from non-visa-exempt countries, such as Mexico or India, have no idea how rigorous Canada is when it comes to issuing a “simple” visitor or business visitor visa. As many non-visa-exempt applicants have found (often the hard way), obtaining a visa to Canada, or “temporary resident visa” (TRV), is not easy. This is especially true for nationals in developing countries.

If you’re a business person who regularly conducts business in the US or Canada, obtaining a multiple-entry visa in advance is a smart way to respond to client and business matters in a proactive manner.

Whether just visiting or on official business in Canada, the onus is on the applicant to prove that his entry to Canada is temporary.

SPECIAL NOTE:Permanent Residents of the United States are visa-exempt to Canada, regardless of nationality. (This courtesy is not reciprocated for permanent residents of Canada of a non-waiver national entering the United States.) A TRV is generally filed in advance via the consulate, a Visa Application Centre (VAC) or at the Embassy. For the most part, our firm opts to file online via the relevant visa post serving the applicant’s country of nationality or residency. TRV applicants who are legally in the United States will generally file online via the Canadian Consulate General of Los Angeles.
